Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari

Day 1  : Departure Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Have early pick up from either your hotel in Nairobi or airport upon arrival and start your long but scenic drive to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, you will arrive in the afternoon and check in at your camp for a delicious lunch.

After lunch, you will set out for an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of Masai Mara in search for wildlife. You will catch a sight of lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, hartebeests and many colorful birds among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Maasai Mara National Reserve Safari

After breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive in the endless plains of the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve.

Masai Mara National Reserve is a famous Kenya wildlife reserve for being home to a lot of animals including lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, cape buffaloes, gazelles, impalas, topis, elands, hartebeests and many more. If you visit during the months of July to October that is during the Great Migration Season, you may be lucky to see the Mara River Crossing when more than 1.5 million wildebeests accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles taking part in annual journey in search for water and green pastures.

You will have lunch at a picnic site and continue exploring the endless plains of Masai Mara, late in the afternoon you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Alternatively, you can go for a traditional visit to the local Maasai villages to learn more about their culture and traditions. A Hot air balloon safari is also a better option.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

Wake early for breakfast, bid farewell to Masai Mara National Reserve and head out on a road journey to Serengeti National Park with border crossing at Isebania border. Sirare border where you will make a brief stop for visa processing. Meet our Tanzania guide and change the vehicle and proceed to the park, you will access the park through Ikoma Gate or Fort Ikoma Ranger post depending on your safari lodge or camp.

You will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park, you will enjoy en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park Safari

You will spend these two days exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park, after breakfast you will head to the park.

Serengeti National Park is an iconic Africa safari destination known hosting the Big Five and The Great Migration, the park is where wildebeests spend most of the time before they cross over to Masai Mara National Reserve.

Serengeti is home to other animals including elephants, leopards, zebras, giraffes, serval cats, jackals, hyenas, warthogs among others. Serengeti also is home to more than 500 bird species recorded in the park which you will have a chance to see during the game drives.

Day 6  : Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and go for a game en-route to Nahi Hills Gate where you will register and continue to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCAA). You will head to your lodge at the crater rim after check-in, in the afternoon you will spend the rest of day relaxing at your lodge or take a nature walk at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Transfer to Arusha

Have early breakfast, descend to Ngorongoro Crater’s floor where you will spend the day on game drives. During the morning game drive, you will have high chances of spotting animals like black rhinos and others, other animals to look out for include lions, leopards, buffaloes, elands, gazelles, zebras and many birds among others.

You will enjoy your packed lunch and continue exploring the crater, in the afternoon. You will bid fare well to the crater and embark on a journey to Arusha arriving in the evening. Check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Arusha – Amboseli National Park Safari

Have early breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park with border crossing at Namanga border where you will have a stopover for clearing with the authorities and passport stamping. Meet your Kenyan guide and vehicle and proceed to Amboseli.

Arrive in time for lunch at your lode, after a short rest you will go for an afternoon game drive until late afternoon. After sunset, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Full day safari at Amboseli National Park
