 Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to a hotel in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our safari driver guide, who will brief you about the safari. Transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe for relaxation as you wait for your next journey. Dinner and overnight stay Best Western Hotel -Midrange, Protea Hotel Entebbe -Luxury

Day 2: Birding at Mabamba swamp

After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, embark on a birding encounter at Mabamba swamp along the shores of Lake Victoria. During your visit around this site, expect to encounter the rare shoebill stork, kingfishers, Blue Swallow, Lesser Jacana, African Fish Eagle, Papyrus Gonolek among others. After a birding excursion, drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary ‘’4 to 5 hrs drive)

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before transferring you to Murchison Falls National Park—Uganda’s largest and oldest national Park. Proceed to have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and after, continue for another stop in Masindi town for lunch.

After lunch, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park straight to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy amazing photography. Thereafter, you will be driven to your booked lodge and check in for dinner and an overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge (mid-range) or Nile Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast at the lodge, embark on the morning game drive, where you will be able to spot a vast number of animal species, such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, leopards, lions, and Jackson’s hartebeest, among others. Enjoy your hot lunch at the lodge.

Later on, go for the boat cruise at the bottom of the falls, where you will spot animals like herds of elephants bathing, antelopes, and buffalo along the shores. Other water species to see include hippos and Nile crocodiles as well as aquatic bird species such as the rare shoebill, Red-throated Bee-eaters, Rock Pratincole, Massive Goliath Heron and various kingfisher -Pied, Malachite mentioned but few). Dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale national park

Enjoy morning breakfast at the lodge before setting off on the journey to Kibale National Park in the Western Uganda region. The journey stuns with an en-route lunch and rewarding views of the Crater lakes, among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Chimpundu Lodge—Luxury, Chimpanzee Forest Lodge -Midrange

Day 6: Chimpanzee habituation and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up early and have a yummy breakfast, followed by driving to the park headquarters for the briefing about the habituation experience. You will go  meet the park ranger to lead you through the forest to search for the habituated chimpanzee groups.

On finding them, you will have four hours to spend observing their behaviors and habits, as well as capturing videos. After, you will walk back to meet your driver guide to transfer you to the Queen Elizabeth National Park with an en route game drive. Connect to the lodge and check in for dinner and an overnight stay at Elephant plains lodge -Luxury, Elephant hub lodge -Midrange.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge before heading out on a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. Expecting to see different animals such as lions, herds of elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, among others. Afterward, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat cruise, you will be able to spot a school of hippos and Nile crocodiles. You will also spot various water bird species such as fish eagles, kingfishers, cormorants, hornbills, and cattle egrets, among many. Dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will transfer to Bwindi after a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. You will drive through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have a chance to witness the unique tree-climbing lions. Continue the journey to Bwindi with an en-route lunch and a great view of the scenic landscape, countryside, terraced farmlands and others. Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge (luxury) or Buhoma Haven Lodge – Midrange.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge before embarking at the park headquarters for a short briefing about gorillas’ rules and expectations. After the briefing, you will be accompanied by the park ranger to lead you through forest trails in search of a gorilla group.

On finding them, you will be given an hour to spend with them as you learn about their behaviors and habits as well as enjoy a memorable photo shoot. After an amazing gorilla encounter, you will hike to the meeting point, where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking.

Thereafter, meet your driver guide to transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi. Upon arrival, go for a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, where you will explore one of the 29 islands and enjoy viewing beautiful landscapes, terraced farmlands, and different bird species many more.

Other optional activities to do include Zip lining, nature walks. Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Lodge.

Day 11: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)

After a morning breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Volcanoes National Park with spectacular views of the countryside, rolling hills and homesteads. Enjoy en-route lunch. Arrive at Ruhengeri to check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge (mid-range) or Virunga Inn Resort and Spa (luxury).

Day 12: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national par

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge before heading out on a gorilla trekking briefing at the meeting center. After briefing, you will be led by the knowledgeable guide through the forest to look out for a gorilla family. Once finding the gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour to watch their daily activities, such as playing, breastfeeding, and feeding and grooming their young ones as well as video capturing. Connect to your lodge for hot lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 13: Golden Monkey

Wake up, have a morning breakfast, and then be driven to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, walk into the forest to search for golden monkeys. Once the golden monkey troops are allocated, an hour will be given to you to watch these active species swinging on tree branches, feeding and playing, as well as enjoy capturing videos. After, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Have dinner and an overnight as above.

Day 14: Transfer to Kigali

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before embarking back to Kigali for a Kigali city tour where you will visit genocide memorial Centre, Kimironko market among others. Enjoy lunch in the city. Later, you will be driven to Kigali International Airport, where you will be dropped off for your departure flight.
