Day 1: Arrival at Goma and Transfer to Virunga National Park

Arrival at Goma and Transfer to Virunga: Day one of 8 days Virunga Nyiragongo & Masai Mara safari you will need to arrive in Goma before midday and then you will head to the Virunga tourism office that is located in Goma. At the Virunga Tourism office, you will attain your gorilla and volcano trek permits, after this your will head to Kibumba tented Camp where you will have your overnight stay.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking

Mountain Gorilla trekking: Day two of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, you will be up early, have breakfast at Kibumba Tented Camp before you head down to the hill to connect with the Gorilla trekking ranger guides. You will have a mountain gorilla briefing and then enter the forest for the gorilla trek. The entire trek takes about 4 to 5 hours and the trek you will head back to the camp for a late lunch and afternoon at leisure; you will have dinner and an overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 3: Nyiragongo Trek (Ascend)

Nyiragongo Trek (Ascend): Day three of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, you will be up early, have breakfast at the Camp and then head to Kibati Ranger Post where you’re expected by 8:15 am. From Kibati you will then proceed to the starting point for the Nyiragongo volcano trek, you will be briefed about the hike at this point, hire porters and then start the climb up the Volcano which will take up to 6 or 7 hours depending on your climbing pace. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at the Volcano summit.

Day 4: Nyiragongo Trek (Descend), Transfer to Kigali and to Nairobi

Nyiragongo Trek: Day four of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, you will be up early and embark on a descend from the Volcano Summit to Kibati ranger post. The descend takes about 4 to 5 hours and once at Kibati you will have a snack and then head to Goma, where you will cross into Rwanda. After crossing to Rwanda you will head to Kigali having lunch en route. You will be in Kigali (Kigali international airport) in the late afternoon and you will then catch a flight to Nairobi where you will spend a night.

Day 5: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Game Reserve

Transfer to Maasai Mara: Day five of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, Your will be up by 8am, have breakfast before you connect with our guide, who will pick you at 9am to head to Maasai Mara National Game Reserve, you will have lunch en route and you will be in Maasai Mara in the late afternoon or evening. In Maasai Mara you will check into your accommodation, have time at leisure; later have dinner and night rest.

Day 6: Maasai Mara Game drive day one

Maasai Mara Game drive: Day 6 of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and head to the wild for your first day of animal viewing that will take you through one side of the park to see numerous animals that include lions, zebras, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests etc. Since it’s a whole day activity you will have packed lunch on a lunch break and after the experience, you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 7: Maasai Mara Game drive day two

Maasai Mara Game drive: Day seven of 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek, and Masaai Mara safari, similar to day six you will be up early having breakfast and head to the wild for a full day of animal viewing that will take you through another side of the park to see more animals. You will have packed lunch on a lunch break and after the experience, you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 8: Transfer to Nairobi

Transfer to Nairobi: The final day of the 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek and Masaai Mara safari, you will be up at leisure but still in the morning, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and then head to Nairobi. The guide will drop you at a location of your choice in Nairobi and that will be your 8 days Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Trek, and Masaai Mara safari.
