3 Days Akagera Wildlife Safari is a short tour that has been designed to carter for visitors who are on vacation in Rwanda and would like to explore the country on a fixed budget and within their short period of stay in the country. This 3 Days Rwanda safari will give you a chance to explore Akagera National Park which is the only savannah national park in the country.

Day 1: Pickup in Kigali and Transfer to Akagera National Park.
Pick up and Kigali City Tour: On Day 1 of this 3 Days Akagera Safari, you will be picked by your guide from Kigali international airport. After a brief meet and greet session, you with will embark on a tour of Kigali city where you will visit interesting cultural and historical sites like; Kigali Genocide Memorial, Caplaki Craft Village, Nyamirambo Women’s Center, and Camp Kigali Memorial Center to mention but a few. After your tour of Kigali City, have lunch and proceed with your transfer to Akagera National Park.
Transfer to Akagera: Akagera national park is Rwanda’s only refuge for savannah wildlife animals and has over 8,000 large land animals. The park is situated about 110 kilometers from Kigali, which is about a 2½ hour’s drive from the city.
Evening Game Drive/Community Tour (Optional): Upon your arrival in the park, you can opt to go on an evening game drive in the park or embark on a cultural experience as you visit one of the local communities that live near the national park.
Later retire to your lodge for dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise.
Morning Game Drive: Have your breakfast early in the morning and head out for a morning game drive in the southern circuit of the national park. Get to explore the beautiful savanna and landscape in the park. You will also have the opportunity to see wildlife animals in the park like; elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, antelopes, and waterbucks to mention but a few.
Afternoon Boat Cruise: You will return back to your lodge for lunch, rest for a short while and later embark on an evening boat cruise on Lake Ihema. While on your boat cruise, you will get to see the splendid wildlife at the park like; Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and some water birds like; the marabou stork, herons and the African fish eagle. After your boat cruise, you can opt to go guided nature walk and explore the marvelous flora and fauna species that Akagera National Park has to offer.
Return back to your lodge for dinner and relax for the rest of the evening.
Night game drive (optional): After having your dinner, you will meet up with your guide/driver and head out for a night game drive in the park. Night game drives in Akagera national park commence at 6pm and you will be accompanied by an experienced park ranger. The night game drive in Akagera will offer you the best opportunity to see nocturnal wildlife animals such as leopards, lions, and hyenas among others. You may also get a chance to see other Big Five animals that you did not during your morning game drive.
Day 3: Game drive and transfer back to Kigali.
Morning Game Drive: Have your breakfast early in the morning and head out for a morning game drive. This time round you will be exploring the northern circuit of Akagera. Get to explore the beautiful savanna and landscape in the park. You will also have the opportunity to see wildlife animals in the park like; elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, rhinos, waterbucks to mention but a few. If you are lucky, you will get to spot all the Big 5 animals in the national park.
Transfer Back to Kigali & Departure: Head back to your lodge for lunch and later transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your arrival time in Kigali, you can do an optional city tour and later have your guide drop you off at your hotel in Kigali City or at Kigali International Airport.
