Attend CHOGM visit Uganda : The commonwealth heads of government meeting was to take place in Rwanda this year 2021 the week of June 21. The meeting that was postponed from June 2020 because of the COVID pandemic brings together heads of states from commonwealth countries to discuss issues of governance and development in the different countries. The meeting is the top consultative and policy making gathering and it usually held every two years.
The last CHOGM meeting was held in London in 2018 where Rwanda was selected to host the next meeting in 2020. Though Rwanda was not able to host because of the COVID pandemic; it will now be able to host the meeting as the COVID pandemic is being managed in different countries and in addition a good number of the population has been vaccinated so the risks of the disease spread have being greatly minimised.
