Lake Mburo National Park – Mgahinga National Park Safari: The Lake Mburo National Park – Mgahinga National Park Safari, is a safari that takes you to western Uganda and south western Uganda. It takes you to two amazing parks namely Lake Mburo National Park and Mgahinga National Park. It also gives you an opportunity to see the famous mountain gorillas and savannah wildlife among other things.
This safari is done as a combined Uganda safari so you know you will be visiting both parks on the same trip besides they are all on the same route so it’s easy for you to connect to both of them. You can start this safari from Kampala or Kigali. If you start it from Kampala you go to Lake Mburo National Park first and then Mgahinga National Park and if you start from Kigali you will go to Mgahinga National Park and then Lake Mburo National Park.

The Lake Mburo National Park – Mgahinga National Park Safari, takes a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 6 days. This time include the time at the park and the travel to and from the parks. It also includes the time of doing activities at the park.
The duration of the safari, is the same whether you start from Kigali or Kampala.
The attractions on this safari include but not limited to savannah animals like zebras, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, antelopes etc, several bird species, savannah vegetation, lake Mburo and other things all in Lake Mburo National Park.
In Mgahinga National Park you will see the famous mountain gorillas, unique forested vegetation, the amazing Virunga massif and if you have time for it visit the nearby Batwa community and lake Bunyonyi.
The activities you get to do on this safari will include: – mountain gorilla trekking, Virunga massif hiking, bird watching, nature walks, community tour and many more at the Mgahinga National Park.
At Lake Mburo National Park you will enjoy activities like savannah game drives, boat rides, nature walks, horseback riding and others among others.
Requirements for these safari will include permits for mountain gorilla trekking, park entrance fees and activity fees plus as fees as communicated to you by the park or your tour operator.

The best time for this safari is any time you wish to have the safari. Definitely the dry season is deemed best for mountain gorilla trekking and hiking because of the dry trails. But also most people take safaris during the dry season. But even in the wet season you can visit these parks. The parks are opened all year round. And they admit visitors all year round.

When going for the mountain gorilla trekking activities in Mgahinga National Park you will be required to observe the mountain gorilla trekking rules that include but are not limited to: – keeping a 7 meter distance between you and the gorillas when in their presence, do not trek when you ill, do not anything that will cause harm to the gorillas, do not touch or feed the gorillas, always stay in your group during the trekking experience and follow the rangers guidelines, do not litter the gorilla habitat etc.
In Lake Mburo National Park you will have the opportunity to have day time game drive and a night game drive. For the night game drive you will need to be up late and it will also cost more than the day time game drive.
