Park Entrances Fees for Bwindi and Mgahinga National Park 2021: Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Park are the two mountain gorilla parks in Uganda; located in south western Uganda these two parks are natural habitats for the endangered mountain gorillas.
Bwindi National Park is currently a habitat to over half the world’s total population of mountain gorillas and Mgahinga National Park is a habitat to just a portion of the world’s total population of mountain gorillas.
The parks are located within about a four hour distance from each other and mountain gorilla enthusiasts if they are up to it can have mountain gorilla trekking experiences in both parks.
Bwindi National Park being the one with the most number of mountain gorillas and the largest habitat of mountain gorillas, it’s the most visited mountain gorilla habitat in Uganda if not in the whole of East Africa. The Park receives over 10, 000 guests trekking the mountain gorillas annually.
The trekkers in Bwindi National Park have an opporntunity to trek either one of the four mountain gorilla sectors that are Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhejja and Nkuringo. These entire sectors have more than one mountain gorilla family but trekkers are only given an opportunity to trek one family for one hour.
Mountain gorilla trekkers that get a chance to trek Mgahinga trek the virunga massif to get to the one mountain gorilla family that is the massif. They also spend one hour viewing and observing this family.
Visiting any of these parks is on every traveller’s do list because taking a mountain gorilla trekking experience and spending time with the mountain gorillas is one of the most exciting tourist experiences.

Entrance Fees and Single Trekking Experience means the fees cover your entrance and one mountain gorilla trekking experience to spend one hour with one mountain gorilla family.
Entrance Fees and Mountain Gorilla Habituation means the fees cover your entrance and one mountain gorilla habituation experience to spend about four hours with either a mountain gorilla family or a group of mountain gorillas.
The fees also cover conservation fees for the park that support the continued work of protecting mountain gorillas and their habitat.
Other things that are covered by these fees include government taxes, park ranger fees, trekking ranger fees and a couple of other things.
All the fees indicated in the table are applicable to a person per a trekking/entrance or any other activity in either Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga National Park.
Where entrances fees are not included, they are to be paid separately from the activity; in fact all activities that are not mountain gorilla trekking or habituation, attract a separate entrance fee on top of the activity fee.
