Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Kibale National Park
Day 1 of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari will start in Kampala or Entebbe, where you will link up with our guide at 8am and together you will embark of a journey to western Uganda to Kibale National Park. This journey will give spectacular views of tea plantations, unique landscape and then fort portal town, where you will have a lunch stop before you continue to Kibale National Park.
You will be in Kibale in the late afternoon, you will check into your accommodation, refresh, and have dinner and a night rest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking
Day 2 of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari you will be up early by 7am, have breakfast and then after breakfast head to the park headquarters for trekking briefing before you enter the forest to search for the famous chimpanzees. You will enter the forest for a 3 – 4 hour trek until you find the chimpanzees with which you will spend one hour and then exit the forest.
Chimpanzee trekking takes most of your morning to the early afternoon and when you are done with the trekking experience you will head back to your accommodation for a late lunch and rest of the afternoon at leisure.
You will have dinner at your accommodation and a night rest.
Day 3: Transfer to Semuliki National Park and Evening game drive
Day 3 of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari you will be up at leisure have a breakfast or branch and after you will check out of your accommodation and then to Semuliki National Park. You will be at Semuliki in the late afternoon, you will have a meal and after the meal relax for a couple of hours before you go into the wild for an evening game drive to see the numerous animals that are in the park that include:- buffaloes, leopards, elephants, hyenas and many more.
After the game drive you will head to your accommodation where you will have dinner or a night snack and a night rest.
Day 4: Nature walk and Sempaya Hot springs
Day 4 of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari you will be up moderately early (not so early/ not so late) have breakfast and after breakfast you will head out for a nature walk in the park where you see the numerous birds species and vegetation in the park plus the Mungilo waterfalls.
You will also set out to visit the Sempaya hot springs (the most popular attraction in Semuliki). You will spend some good hours around the male and female springs learning about their history and beliefs related to them.
The springs are beautiful and have a geyser, which comes up, up to about 8 meters high at a very high temperature; tourists normally take this opportunity to boil some eggs or local matooke on these springs.
The Nature walk and Sempaya hot springs tour will go on till the late afternoon and after you will retire to your accommodation for a late lunch and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
You will later have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation.
Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Kampala
Day 5 of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari you will be up early and at 6am go out for a morning game drive that will go on till 8am. After the game drive you will head back to you accommodation, where you will freshen up, have breakfast and after break check out and embark on your journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
This is a 6 to 7 hour journey so you will have lunch en route and your you will be in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening. The guide will drop you at a location of your choice in Kampala or at Entebbe International airport. That will be end of the 5 days Kibale National Park and Semuliki National Park Safari.
