Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala city tour

Kampala city tour: Day one of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, will start in Kampala with a Kampala city tour, the tour guide will pick you up at location of your choice in Kampala at 8am, and you will go on to explore the different places in Kampala that will include the Gadhafi mosque, Kabaka’s palace, Namugongo Shrines, Bahai Temple, the Uganda Museum, the African Markets and downtown markets. This is a whole day tour so you will have a lunch break in between for lunch and you will be done with the whole tour by 4pm or 5pm and the driver will pick drop you at an accommodation of your choice or one organised for you by the tour operator. You will have dinner and a night rest at this accommodation.

Day 2: Birding – Mabira forest

Transfer to Mabira Forest: Day two of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and the tour guide will pick you up at your accommodation at 7am and you will head east to Mabira forest, where you will arrive at 9am or 10am.
Mabira forest Experience: In Mabira forest you will have a nature walk and birding watching activity to see the numerous birds that stay in the forest including the African pied Hornbill, Red-bellied Paradise Flycatcher, Great blue Turaco, Toro Olive Greenbul and many more. This activity will go on till the afternoon, and you will have a break for lunch and then go for forest zip-lining.
Transfer to Jinja: After Ziplining, you will head out of the forest, and head further east to Jinja town where you will arrive in a hour or two, check into your accommodation, have dinner and a night rest.

Day 3: Itanda falls

Itanda falls: Day three of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and then head to the Itanda falls for a full day of water rafting experience. This experience will give you a chance to experience the Nile waters in a fun way as you enjoy the surrounding flora and the birds that live on the Nile. You will have a lunch break to have lunch and the activity will end at 4 pm, after which you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 4: Source of the Nile and Transfer to Mbale

Source of the Nile: Day four of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up at 9 am, have breakfast and after breakfast, check out of your accommodation and head to the source of the Nile, where you will see the spot where the Nile begins and enjoy a few other activities at the source.
Transfer to Mbale: After the source of the Nile experience, you will have lunch and after lunch you will continue east to Mbale District, where you will arrive in the evening, check into your accommodation and have a night rest.

Day 5: Mbale Sipi and Chebet falls

Sipi Falls Experience: Day five of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and head out to the Sipi falls trail to experience the sipi falls. This sipi falls trail experience will take the whole morning and…
Chebet falls: after you will have lunch before you go on to the chebet trail falls to experience the Chebet falls. After the Chebet falls experience you will head back to your accommodation for refreshment, later dinner and night rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Kidepo National Park

Transfer to Kidepo: Day six of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and then north east to Kidepo National Park. This is a 5 to 6-hour journey so you will have lunch en route and you will arrive in Kidepo National Park in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, and later have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation.

Day 7: Kidepo National Park -Game drive

Game Drive in Kidepo: Day seven of the 10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early have breakfast at your accommodation and then at 6am head out to the park for a morning game drive to see the numerous animals that live in Kidepo National Park that include leopards, cheetahs, lions, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, caracal, and many more. This game drive will go on till lunchtime and you will head to your accommodation for lunch and chill before you go for an evening game drive at 4 pm to see more animals and those in the different sides of the park, this game drive will end around 6pm or 7 pm, you will then head to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 8: Ike community and Nature Walk

Ike community tour: Day eight of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up at 9am have breakfast and at 10am go out to visit the Ike community that lives around Kidepo National Park, you will be delighted to engage with this unique community through song, stories and dance. This community encounter will take up to 12pm and then you will head back to your accommodation, have lunch and at 4pm go for a nature walk to the seasonal river in the park. After you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and a night rest.

Day 9: Transfer to Mbale

Transfer to Mbale: Day nine of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and check out of your accommodation and then embark on your journey back to Kampala with a pit stop in Mbale.
Return to Mbale: You will have lunch en route and be in Mbale in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, spend the rest of the day leisure, later have dinner and night rest.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala

Transfer to Kampala: Day ten of the10 days Eastern Uganda Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and then embark on your journey to Kampala. You will stop by Jinja for lunch and then continue to Kampala where you will arrive in the evening. The guide will drop you at a location of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe.
