Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala city tour

Kampala city tour: Day one of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be picked up at 8am, at your accommodation either in Kampala or Entebbe and then you will head to Kampala city for a city tour that will take you around Kampala to experience the different futures in Kampala. On this tour you will see the Buganda Kingdom Palace, Bahai temple, Namugongo shrines, Uganda Museum, Gadhafi mosque, the local markets among other places. This is a whole day tour so you will have a lunch break for lunch and at the end of the tour in the evening, you will head to your accommodation most preferably in Kampala, for dinner and a night rest.

Day 2: Mabira forest – Birding and Nature Walk

Transfer to Mabira forest: Day two of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early have breakfast and at 7 am, you will be heading to Mabira Forest with the tour guide. You will be in Mabira forest at 9am or 10am depending on the traffic. In Mabira forest you will have a forest nature walk and birding experience to see unique tree species and birds including the Black & white Casqued Hornbill, African and Red bellied Paradise Flycatcher, Sooty flycatchers, Purple throated cuckoo shrike and many more.
Zip lining experience: After the nature walk, you have lunch and after lunch you will go for a forest zip lining experience in the forest. After this you will then proceed to jinja town where you will arrive in the evening, check into your accommodation, have dinner and a night rest

Day 3: Source of the Nile and Jinja town tour

Source of the Nile and Jinja town tour: Day three of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up at 9 am, have breakfast and then head to the source of the Nile for the source of the Nile experience that will go on till lunch time. At lunch time you will have lunch and then head to Jinja town for a Jinja town tour that will end in the late afternoon; after which you will head to your accommodation for the rest of the afternoon at leisure, later dinner and a night rest.

Day 4: Itanda falls

Itanda falls: Day four of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early, have breakfast and then to the Itanda falls for a full day of water activities especially water rafting. This is a whole day of activities so you will have lunch on a lunch break and the activities will end at 4pm. you will then head to your accommodation for the rest of the evening at leisure, dinner and night rest.

Day 5: Sipi falls and Chebet falls

Sipi falls and Chebet falls: Day five of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up quite early, have breakfast and check out of your accommodation and head to Mbale. You will arrive in Mbale about 9am or 10am and you will go for a Sipi and Chebet falls experience that will go on till the early afternoon. After the experience, you will head your accommodation, check-in, have a late lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
You will have dinner and a night stay at your accommodation

Day 6: Transfer to Kidepo National Park

Transfer to Kidepo: Day six of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up at 8 am, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and then travel to Kidepo National Park. The journey to Kidepo National Park is about 5 to 6 hours so you will arrive in Kidepo in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, refresh, have dinner and a night rest. Lunch on this day will be en route lunch.

Day 7: Kidepo National Park – Game drive

Game Drive: Day seven of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will have two comprehensive game drives in Kidepo National Park. You will be up by 5:30 am have breakfast and then at 6 am head out to the park for a morning game drive that will stretch to the midmorning. After this game drive you will head back to your accommodation to relax and meals.
Evening Game Drive: In the evening at 4 pm, you will head out again for an evening game drive to see more animals some retiring for the day and others just getting up for the day, this game drive will go on till 7 pm and then you will head to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 8: Ike community and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Ike community: Day eight of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up, have breakfast and then head to the community to visit the Ike people, where you will engage in songs, dances and storytelling as you get to learn more about the people. This will go on till the mid-morning and after you will head back to your accommodation for lunch.
Transfer to Murchison: After lunch, you will then check out of your accommodation and then to Murchison falls National Park. You will arrive in Murchison Falls in the evening, check into your accommodation have dinner and a night rest.

Day 9: Murchison falls National Park Game drive, Boat cruise, Top of the falls

Game drive: Day nine of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early have a breakfast and then head to the park for a morning game drive to see the numerous animals that stay in Murchison falls National Park.
Boat Cruise: The game drive will end in the mid-morning and you head back to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on the Nile River where you will enjoy the water’s serene ambience, amazing flora surrounding the river and water animals and birds. You will also hike up the top of the falls to experience the falls from the top.
After this experience you will head back to your accommodation for a night rest.

Day 10: Transfer to kibale National Park

Transfer to kibale: Day ten of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early, have breakfast and then embark on a 6 to 7 hour journey to Kibale National Park. You will have lunch en route and you will arrive in Kibale in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, relax, and later have dinner and a night rest

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking and Nature Walk

Chimpanzee Trekking: Day eleven of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early, have breakfast and then head to the park offices for a chimpanzee trekking briefing session. After the brief you will enter the forest for your trekking experience that will last 4 to 5 hours with one hour spent with the chimpanzees. After the chimpanzee trekking experience, you will head to your accommodation to relax and have lunch.
Bigodi Wetland: In the evening you will take a nature walk in the bigodi swamps and after return to your accommodation for dinner and a night rest.

Day 12: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen: Day twelve of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will get up at leisure have breakfast, check out of the accommodation and then head south to queen Elizabeth National park. You will be in QENP in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, have a late lunch and spend the rest of the time at leisure. You will have dinner and night rest at your accommodation

Day 13: Game drive and Boat cruise

Game drive: Day thirteen of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early. have breakfast and then head to the park for a morning game drive that will go on till lunchtime.
Boat Cruise: You will then have lunch at your accommodation and after lunch head to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise to see numerous water birds including the shoebill stork and many Albertine endemic birds. After the boat cruise you will then head to your accommodation for dinner and a night rest.

Day 14: Ishasha tree-climbing lions and Bwindi National Park

Ishasha tree-climbing lions: Day fourteen of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will head south to Bwindi National Park. You will be up early, have breakfast and check out of your accommodation.
Transfer to Bwindi: After you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Ishasha where you will see tree climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi National Park. You will arrive in Bwindi in the afternoon, check into your accommodation, have lunch and then spend the rest of the day at leisure.
You will have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation

Day 15: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Mountain Gorilla Trekking: Day fifteen of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early have breakfast and then head to the park offices for a gorilla trekking brief before you enter the forest to search for the mountain gorillas. When you find the mountain gorillas you will spend an hour with the gorillas before leaving the forest. This experiences takes up to 7 hours and after you will head back to your accommodation for a late lunch, time at leisure, later dinner and a night rest.

Day 16: Batwa Trail experience and Buhoma cultural tour

Batwa Trail experience: Day sixteen of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up at leisure, have breakfast and then head out for a Batwa trail experience to visit the unique Batwa people, engage in songs, dances, meal making and other cultural activites of these people. After you will head back to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation.
Cultural Tour in Buhoma: In the late afternoon, you will go out for a buhoma cultural tour where you will interact with communities that stay around Bwindi National Park and you hear stories and engage in different community activities. After you will head back to your accommodation where you will have dinner and night rest.

Day 17: Transfer to Kampala via Igongo and the Equator

Transfer to Kampala: The final day of the 17 days Uganda Safari Road trip, you will be up early, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and then embark on an 8 to 9 hour journey back to Kampala. You will have lunch en route and you will stop by Igongo and the Equator for site seeing experience. You will be in Kampala in the evening and the tour guide will drop you at a location of your choice either in Kampala or Entebbe.
