Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA
- NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA: This first day of your safari will entail the long 7 to 8-hour drive from Kenya’s capital Nairobi to Masaai Mara. The guide will pick you from Nairobi either from the airport or accommodation at 8 am and you will embark on your journey to Masaai Mara, with stops for lunch, snacks, stretches and bathroom breaks. You will arrive in Masai Mara in the evening, check into your accommodation, relax from the long journey, and have dinner and an overnight sleep.
DAY 2: 1st GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA
- GAME DRIVE: You will be up early to an amazing breakfast at your accommodation and after you will head out for a day filled with a game drive through one part of the park to experience the wildlife in the park that includes lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes among others. You will have a break to refresh and have lunch at your convenience and the whole game drive will end at 5 pm. After the game drive you will head to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.
DAY 3: 2nd GAME DRIVE IN MASAAI MARA
- GAME DRIVE: Like the previous day, you will be up early to an amazing breakfast at your accommodation and after you will head out for a day filled with a game drive through another part of the park to see more wildlife. Again you will have a break to refresh and have lunch at your convenience and the whole game drive will end at 5pm. After the game drive you will head to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO UGANDA
- TRANSFER TO UGANDA: You will be up early, have breakfast and then check out of your accommodation. You will then head to the airstrip to catch your flight to Uganda with a stop at Kisumu for Immigration clearance. You will arrive in Uganda – Entebbe international airport in mid-morning, go through the checks and you will be met by our guide. You then go for lunch and after head to kampala for a mini-city tour, after you will retire to your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.
DAY 5: TRANSFER TO KIBALE
- TRANSFER TO KIBALE: You will be up quite early, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and embark on the 4 to 5-hour drive to Kibale National Park. You will arrive in Fort portal town in the early afternoon, where you will get some lunch, then after take go for a tour of the king’s palace and the Amabere caves. After the tour, you will then head to Kibaale National Park, where you will arrive in about 30 mins, check into your accommodation, freshen up, have dinner and a night rest.
DAY 6: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING
- CHIMPANZEE TREKKING: You will be up early, have breakfast at your accommodation and then head to the park’s headquarters for a trekking briefing session about what to expect during the chimpanzee trekking experience plus the guidelines. You will then head to the forest with your trekking guide to find the chimpanzees. You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees but the entire experience will take about 4 to hours. After your hours of trekking, you will then go to your accommodation for lunch and afternoon chill. If you are up to it you will have a nature walk in the park to visit the craters. You will have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation.
DAY 7: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
- TRANSFER TO QUEEN: You will check out of your accommodation after having breakfast at your accommodation then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, south of Kibaale where you arrive in the early afternoon. In Queen Elizabeth National Park you will check into your accommodation, have lunch and after lunch, you will head to Kazinga Channel for a thrilling boat cruise that will take you down the water channel and give you an opportunity to see numerous water birds and animals. After the boat cruise, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and a night rest.
DAY 8: GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
- GAME DRIVE: Be up by 5 am, have a morning snack and then head out for a morning game drive in the park to see the park’s diverse wildlife including tree-climbing lions, zebras, impalas, kobs, warthogs among others.
- TRANSFER TO BWINDI: Your game drive will end at around 12pm, you will head back to your accommodation for lunch and after lunch, you will check out and continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening, check into your accommodation; have dinner and night rest.
DAY 9: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING
- GORILLA TREKKING: You will be up early, have breakfast and be at the park’s offices by 7 am for a gorilla trekking briefing session. At the session, you will learn more about the trek and then you will be assigned a ranger who will lead your group of 8 into the forest to find the mountain gorillas. The entire experience will take up to 7 hours with one hour spent with the mountain gorillas; after your trekking experience, you will head back to your accommodation to freshen up, have a late lunch and then relax for the evening. If you wish to you can take a community walk around the park to see the different cultures of the people that live around the park. You will have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation.
DAY 10: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI
- TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI: You will be up early have breakfast at your accommodation and after check out the accommodation. You will then go further south to Lake Bunyonyi where you will arrive in the mid-morning. You will check into your accommodation, and then take a nature walk near the lake area. After the nature walk, you will have lunch and after lunch, you will go canoeing on the lake to explore the 29 islands on the lake as you watch the beautiful birds. After the canoeing experience, you will head back to your accommodation, for dinner and a night rest.
DAY 11: TRANSFER TO RWANDA, NYUNGWE
- TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE: After having breakfast you will, check out of the accommodation and then head to Kigali in Rwanda. You will be in Kigali in the mid-morning, have a brief snack and then continue south to you Nyungwe National Park having lunch en route. You will be in Nyungwe National Park in the evening, check into your accommodation, have dinner and have a night rest.
DAY 12: CANOPY WALK AND END OF TRIP
- CANOPY WALK: You will be up early having breakfast at your accommodation and after breakfast joins the other people for a 2-hour canopy walk on top of the great Nyungwe forest.
- DEPARTURE: After the walk, you will check out of your accommodation and embark on a journey back to Kigali with lunch en route. You will arrive in Kigali in the evening and the guide will drop you at a location of your choice within Kigali city.
