Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

  • Transfer to Lake Nakuru: Day one of the 20 days East African Safari will start in Nairobi, where our tour guide will pick you from, at a location and time of your choice. Since Lake Nakuru National Park is about 3 to 5 hours from Nairobi city, you can leave Nairobi any time between 8 am and 11 am and still make it to Lake Nakuru National Park before dark. Assuming you leave Nairobi at 10am after breakfast, you will be in Nakuru in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation, have a late lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Later you will have dinner and a night rest at your accommodation

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Game drive and Boat ride 

  •  Game drive: Day two of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up pretty early, have breakfast and after head out for a breathe taking a game drive that will allow you to see numerous animals including but not limited to buffalo, waterbucks, giraffes, Impalas, elands, warthogs, black and white rhinos. The game drive will end in the late mid-morning and then you will head to your accommodation for a chill and lunch.
  • Boat Cruise: After lunch, you will head to the lake for a boat ride to see the herds or flamingos up-close, as well as other water life including animals and birds; you will also appreciate the amazing flora surrounding the lake. After the boat ride you will head back to your accommodation for the rest of the evening at leisure, later have dinner and night rest. 

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara 

  •  Transfer to Masai Mara: Day three of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up about 8am, have breakfast and then check out of your accommodation. You will then start a 6 to 7-hour journey south to Maasai Mara National Park, having lunch enroute and arriving in Maasai Mara National Park in the evening. In Maasai Mara, you will check into your accommodation, have an early dinner and after rest from the long travel and for the night.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game drive

  • Masai Mara Game drive: Day four of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and then head to the park for a full day of animal viewing on a full day game drive that will end at 4 pm; animals you will view include lions, leopards, Impalas, cheetahs, antelopes, elephants, zebras and many more. Because it’s a full day game drive you will have packed lunch from your accommodation that you will eat during the lunch break on the game drive. At 4pm after the game drive you then head back to your accommodation for the rest of the evening at leisure, later have dinner and a night rest.

Day 5: Maasai Mara game drive

  • Maasai Mara game drive: Day five of the 20 days East African Safari, like the previous  you will be up early and head out for another full day game drive, that will allow you to see all those animals you didn’t see the previous day as well as see re-view some of those you saw the previous day. You will still have packed lunch from your accommodation and this day’s game drive will end at about 6pm. After the game drive you will head back to your accommodation to freshen up, have dinner and later a night rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Nairobi City 

  • Transfer to Nairobi City: Day six of the 20 days East African Safari, you will get up early; have breakfast and then check out of your accommodation and head to Nairobi. This is a 7 to 8-hour journey, so you will have lunch en route and you will arrive in Nairobi in the evening. You will check into your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 7: Transfer to Tanzania – Kilimanjaro 

  • Transfer to Tanzania: Day seven of the 20 days East Africa Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and after breakfast go out for a mini Nairobi city tour that will end at 1 pm. You will then have lunch and after head to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will take a flight at 3 pm to Kilimanjaro airport. You will be in Kilimanjaro in one hour. Our tour guide will meet you and will take you to your accommodation. You will check-in, have the evening at leisure, later dinner and night rest.

Day 8: Kilimanjaro to Lake Manyara 

  • Transfer to Lake Manyara: Day eight of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and check out of your accommodation to embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park. You will spend all your morning travelling, arriving in Manyara in the afternoon, where you will check into your accommodation, have a late lunch and have the afternoon at leisure. In the evening you will have an early dinner and after dinner head out for a night game drive to see several night animals like cats, genets, porcupines and many more. The game drive will go on up to 10 pm. After the game drive you will head to your accommodation for a night rest.

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park Experience 

  • Lake Manyara Experience: Day nine of the 20 days East Africa Safari, you will be up at leisure and spend most of your morning at leisure. You will then have lunch at 1 pm and after lunch you will go out for a canoeing experience on Lake Manyara that will take most of your afternoon. After the canoeing experience, you will head back to your accommodation for a chill, dinner and night rest. 

Day 10: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park 

  • Transfer to Serengeti: Day ten of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up very early, have breakfast and then head out for your morning game drive in the park to see numerous day animals including zebras, elephants, wildebeest, waterbuck, warthog,  impalas, buffalos and many more. The game drive will go on up to the late midmorning and after the game drive, you will then head to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will check out of your accommodation and then head to Serengeti national park.  You will be in Serengeti in the evening, check into your accommodation, and have dinner and night rest. 

Day 11: Serengeti National Park Game drive one

  • Game drive 1: Day Eleven of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early for your first game drive in Serengeti National Park that will give you a chance to see the big five animals of the wild that is lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, cape buffaloes and other animals like giraffes, zebras, topi, wildebeests, Kongonis, gazelles, Impalas, elands and many more.  This is a full day game drive so you will have packed lunch that you will eat on a lunch break during the game drive. The game drive will end in the evening and you head to your accommodation to freshen up, dinner and night rest.

Day 12: Serengeti National Park Game drive two – Ngorongoro Crater

  • Game drive two: Day Twelve of the 20 days East Africa Safari, You will be up early again, have breakfast and head to the park for your second-day wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park. This will be a half-day game drive and it will end at 1 pm. After the game drive, you will head to your accommodation for lunch and after you will head to Ngorongoro crater. You will arrive in Ngorongoro Crater in the evening; have dinner and night rest.

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater

  • Ngorongoro Crater: Day thirteen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early and go down to the Ngorongoro crater floor for whole day game to see especially the wildebeest and other animals including Zebras, Gazelles, the spotted Hyenas, Jackals, Hippos and many more. Since it’s a whole day game drive you will have packed lunch that you will eat during the game drive lunch break. The game drive will end in the evening, you will then head back to your accommodation, freshen up, have dinner and night rest.

Day 14: Transfer to Uganda 

  • Transfer to Uganda: Day fourteen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up at leisure have late breakfast or brunch and then after check out of your accommodation and head to Kilimanjaro Airport, where you will arrive in the afternoon for a 6 pm flight to Entebbe airportYou will be in Entebbe by 7:30 pm, and our guide will pick you, take you to your accommodation, where you will check-in, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 15: Transfer to Kibale National Park 

  • Transfer to Kibale: Day fifteen of the 20 days East Africa Safari, you will be up early have breakfast and after check out of your accommodation.  At 8am, our guide will pick you to start your journey to western Uganda to Kibale National ParkIn about 4 or 5 hours you will be in Fort Portal town, which will be lunchtime, so you will have lunch in Fort Portal town and after lunch, you will visit the Amabere caves, which visit will take about 1 or 2 hours and after then head to Kibale National Park, which is a 30 min drive from there. When you get to the park you will check into your accommodation and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodation.

Day 16: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Chimpanzee trekking: Day sixteen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up very early have breakfast and then to the park offices for a chimpanzee trekking briefing at 7:30 am. After the briefing, you will then head into the forest to search for these rare primates. When you find the chimpanzees you will spend one hour with them and then head out of the forest. The entire chimpanzee trekking experience will take about 4 to 5 hours and after you head back to your accommodation for lunch and check out. 
  • Transfer to Queen: After lunch you will then embark on your journey south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving at the park in the park in the evening. At Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into your accommodation, have dinner and rest for the night. 

Day 17:  Game drive and Boat Cruise 

  • Game drive: Day seventeen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast then head to the park for a morning game to see several wildlife that lives in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The game drive will end in the early mid-morning and you will head back to your accommodation to relax and have lunch. 
  • Boat Cruise: After lunch, you will then head to the Kazinga channel, where you will take a boat crusie at 2 pm to see numerous water birds and appreciate the Park’s flora. After the boat cruise, you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and night rest.

Day 18:  Transfer to Bwindi National Park 

  • Transfer to Bwindi: Day eighteen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up early, have breakfast and then check out the accommodation to continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On your way to Bwindi you will pass by Ishasha to see the tree climbing lions and then proceed on your journey to Bwindi National Park. You will arrive in Bwindi National Park in the afternoon, where you check into your accommodation, have lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Later you will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 19:  Mountain Gorilla trekking 

  • Mountain Gorilla trekking: Day nineteen of the 20 days East African Safari, you will be up quite early to have breakfast and head to the park offices for a gorilla trekking briefing sessions where you understand the trekking experience better. After the brief, you will then head into the forest where you will find the mountain gorillas and spend an hour with them before you head out of the forest. The mountain gorilla trekking experience takes about 6 to 7 hours, so you need to carry enough water and food for the experience. You will be done in the afternoon, head to your accommodation to freshen up, have a late lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Later you will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 20:  Transfer to Kampala

  • Transfer to Kampala: The final day of the 20 days East African Safari will start early at your accommodation, where you will have breakfast and then check out to embark on an 8 to 9-hour journey to Kampala or EntebbeSince it’s a long journey you will have lunch en route and you will also have a chance to stop by Igongo cultural centre and the equator. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and the guide will drop you at a location of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe.
