Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Lake Mburo, boat ride, night game drive 

  • Travel to Lake Mburo: Take breakfast and at 8am, link up with the tour guide to head to Lake Mburo National Park.
  • boat ride: You will arrive in the park in the early afternoon, check into your accommodation, have lunch and after lunch head to the lake for an afternoon boat ride on the famous Lake Mburo. On this boat ride you will see most water animals and birds that live in the park as you enjoy the cool water breeze.
  • night game drive: After the boat ride you will head back to your accommodation for a little time to relax and at 5:00pm, you will head out for the evening game to see several animals that live in the park. This game drive will go on till 7pm or 8pm and after you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and a night’s rest. 

Day 2: Morning game drive, travel to Bwindi

  • Morning game drive: Wake up pretty early at 5am and head to the wild to view more animals; the game drive will go on till 9am and you will then head to your accommodation to have breakfast, check out and continue southwest to Bwindi National Park.
  • Travel to Bwindi: This day you will have lunch en route and you will arrive in Bwindi National Park in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Later you will have dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking Day

This is your gorilla trekking day. Wake up early, have breakfast and then head to the park headquarters at 7am for a briefing on the mountain gorilla trek. The briefing is to address your expectations and give you the needed guidelines for your gorilla trekking experience. You will head into the mountainous forest to search for the mountain gorillas with whom you will spend an hour. The entire trek will take between 6 and 7 hours and after the trekking experience you will head back to your accommodation for a late lunch and the rest of the day at leisure. Later you will have dinner and a night’s rest at your accommodation.

Day 4: Transfer to QENP—tree-climbing lions, Boat Ride 

  • Transfer to QENP: Wake up early at 6am, have breakfast, check out of your accommodation and then embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha. 
  • tree-climbing lions: In Ishasha you will stop to see tree-climbing lions and after you will proceed to the park, where you will check into your accommodation, have lunch and then at 2pm go to the Kazinga Channel for an amazing boat ride downstream. Among the creatures you will see on this ride, you will see the famous shoebill stork as well as many more animals.
  • Boat Ride: The boat ride will end in the evening; you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and a night’s rest. 

Day 5: Morning game drive transfer to Kampala

  • Morning game drive: Start your day very early at 5am. You will head out to the wild for an early morning game drive to view the various animals in the park. This game drive will go on till 10am and you will then head to your accommodation for breakfast, check out and then head to Kampala. 
  • Transfer to Kampala: You will have lunch en route and you will arrive in Kampala in the evening. The guide will drop you at a location of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe.
