Egret Safari Lodge is a 3-star mid-range accommodation found in the Rubirizi district, along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Western Uganda. The name of the lodge, “Egret,” is derived from the Egret bird, which offers perfect views of the savannah and wildlife. The lodge is convenient for Uganda safari adventures and relaxation since it’s the perfect base for tourists and travelers who want to explore and discover the park with its stunning views, plenty of animals and surrounding areas.

One can be at the camp by road, taking approximately 5-6 hours (370km) driving from Kampala city to Queen Elizabeth national park then an hour flight from Entebbe international airport to the close Kasese airstrip and a few minutes to be transferred to the lodge.
Egret safari lodge is comprised of over 5 spacious and comfortable cottages overlooking the beautiful views of the park, built in traditional African style with grass-thatched roofs and with a high level of comfort. Each cottage is well-furnished and elevated to meet guests’ personal preferences, featuring mosquito nets, a bathroom with hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free toiletries, chairs and wooden tables, complimentary bottled water, slippers in the rooms, and more.
Each cottage has a large sitting area and veranda that give a panoramic view of the park and surrounding areas. The cottages have excellent and comfortable bedding with king-sized beds. There is a campfire pit where fire glows; guests relax as they share stories/experiences about the safari, and it also provides warmth during cold periods. The lodge offers single beds for individuals and double beds/twins for sharing and family/group rooms.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest and most visited national park in western Uganda, located near the historical town of Fort Portal (Tourism City) in the districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park occupies the total area of 987 km squared. The park extends from Lake George in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda, 32 kilometers long.

The park has the variety of flora and fauna, with over 100 mammals and 612 species of birds, which attract more tourists with its many activities which include; Game viewing ,you spot different animals in the park like buffaloes, antelopes ,elephants, leopards, impalas, antelopes, zebras and many in kasenyi sector and tree-climbing lions in ishasha , Boat cruise at Kazinga Channel that enables visitors to spot aquatic animals like Hippos , Crocodiles etc. Bird watching, chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, or forest walks in Karinzu forest or maramagambo .
