The 4 Days Mgahinga National Park Safari is a wonderful safari that will take you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda, where you will be able to engage in gorilla trekking activities and have a chance to spend time with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will also engage in hiking activity, where you will hike Mount Sabyinyo one of the three extinct volcanoes in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
On the first day of the Uganda safari, our driver guide will greet you and take you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. On the way, you will enjoy stunning views and have a stopover at the Equator, where you will buy souvenirs and take photos. From the Equator, you will proceed to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park with an en-route lunch and stunning views of the Kigezi hills and terraced farmlands, among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
On the second day of the 4 days Mgahinga National Park safari, you will have breakfast and carry your packed lunch to go for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will trek in the forest for 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on where the gorillas are, as they move around to find food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primates, different bird species, and plant and tree species, among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their environment, where you will have the opportunity to learn about their habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, groom young ones, take photos, and record videos to show people back home after the safari.
After the encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will meet up with your driver’s guide and return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3: Hiking Mount Sabyinyo
On the third day of the 4 days Mgahinga national park safari, you will have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about hiking Mount Sabyinyo. After the briefing, you will start hiking Mount Sabyinyo with the experienced park guide and rangers.
The volcanic mountain is 12,037 feet high and it takes about 6-9 hours to hike, depending on your level of fitness. During the hike, you will be able to spot various animals, birds, and plant species. Upon reaching the summit, you will enjoy views of Lake Bunyonyi, the Rwenzori peaks, and other Virunga mountains, while also standing in three countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo simultaneously.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe
On the last day of Uganda Gorilla Tour, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala with en route. You then proceed to Kampala arriving early evening. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
