Entebbe International Airport
Entebbe International Airport : Situated 6km southwest of Entebbe town on the shores of Lake Victoria and about 40km by road of Kampala, Entebbe airport is the only airport in Uganda. The main terminal of Entebbe was built in 1972 and 1973 but it was originally opened by the British colonial authorities on the 1940s. After expanding its facilities, the airport was reopened permanently on 10th November 1951 only to be partially destroyed during the Uganda- Tanzania war in 1979.

Today, Entebbe is a fully functioning international airport with passenger facilities like a left luggage office, banks, automated teller machines, restaurants, forex exchange bureaus and duty free shops. It is also a hub for Uganda airlines and eagle Air. Entebbe airport hosts various airlines like Air Tanzania, Emirates, Qatar airways, Kenya Airways among others.
Entebbe town itself is a tourism hub of its own. The beaches around, the Entebbe zoo and the great lodges and guesthouses are a great place to just get away and relax. Uganda airlines at its hub Entebbe international airport started in 1977 until 2001. The defunct flag carrier of the country was revived and started its work in August 2019. The country’s airline flies to about 10 destinations including Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg, Kilimanjaro, Kinshasa, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Nairobi and Zanzibar. You can choose to fly the crane from any of these destinations to Uganda or connect to a destination of your choice.
