Safaris on Sundays : In Uganda, this year and I think even for the rest of the world, most of the recognized public holidays fall on a weekend or even a Sunday like the Liberation Day on 26th Jan, Janani Luwum day on 16th Feb, Women’s Day on 8th march, then the easter weekend etc. And because of that we have received many questions from all of you asking us, what is it like having a safari on the weekend most so on a Sunday. Hence this article
First you need to know a safari can be done any day of the week, it doesn’t have an assigned day for it, meaning whether you have it on Sunday or any other day, it will the same safari. The only difference is Sunday is considered a family day in most parts of the world so it will feel like you are having a safari on a family day. Thus, many tour operators have safari packages for families with children on a Sunday or weekend.
You should know that many tour operators offer safaris on Sundays with activities that include but not limited to: – game drives, boat rides, nature walks, bird watching, primate trekking and others. Even us, we do; so you can make your booking now.
As said, it’s a normal safari so wear your comfortable safari clothing, safari shoes, sun or cold protection. As like for any safari carry fluids, snacks, camera, binoculars if you must and anything you will need to make your safari memorable.
Some people wonder if the safari is as fun or if the parks are safe on Sundays. Of course, the parks are safe, and the park staff and your guide will always be on standby for anything. Park staff and the Guides are trained in first aid, and vehicles are equipped with safety features; in case of any emergency response plans in place. About being fun, all safaris are fun for all the people who love and enjoy the safari adventure., it’s a different story if you don’t.
On the Sunday safaris you will see all the animals you desire to see in the wild, just like on a normal day; the myth of also animals rest on a Sunday is not true. You will see the big five lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo and other animals, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, impalas, kobs, wildebeests and many more.

You will also see numerous birds, trees and all the other things that are in the wild like breathtaking views of landscapes, cultural tours sunrises, walking safaris, air balloon rides and sunsets to mention but a few.
The safaris on Sundays, cost the same as the usual safaris, and again the price will depend on your preferences, season of the year, activities you prefer to do, location of safari destinations, number of people going for the safari, tour operator and many other things. The cost as usual will include guiding services, transportation, and park fees, accommodation and the basic meals in some cases.
So, bottom line having a safari on a Sunday, is like having a safari on any other day.
