3 days Kahuzi Biega trip to congo will give you an exclusive experience as you travel to visit the indigenous lowland gorillas. Kahuzi biega national Park has one of the last eastern lowland gorillas and visiting this park for trekking will leave you fascinated.
Day 1: Pick up and cross to Bukavu.
Upon your arrival for the 3 days Kahuzi Biega trip, you will meet your driver guide at you agreed point of pick up in Kigali for your transfer to cross into Congo through the Rusizi border. This is a 6-7 hours drive through the Nyungwe Forest National Park side of Kigali with lunch enroute. Continue through the amazing thick rainforest and rolling hills to connect to Rusizi. Here you will check in at the Immigrations office, and connect with your driver guide to Bukavu to your accommodation to relax. Dinner and overnight at Orchids Safari Lodge/ Panorama Hotel/ Hotel Elizabeth.
Please note that your Rwanda Visa expires immediately you cross into Congo so it is advisable to re-apply at the Congo border and find it ready on your return
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
Early morning on day two of the 3 days Kahuzi Biega trip after breakfast, you will meet your driver guide for transfer to the park headquarters for your briefing before your hike. You will then set off to your fascinating experience of the lowland gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi as you encounter different mammals, birds and primates. It’s usually a 1-4 hours’ experience of the jungle, depending on their movement while watching them interact/play with each other as you take photos and videos.
After the trek, you will connect back to your accommodation for relaxation and reminiscing about the day. Dinner and overnight as night before Orchids Safari Lodge/ Panorama Hotel/ Hotel Elizabeth.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali.
Wake up to a tasty breakfast then meet your driver guide to transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, you may visit the Nyanza King’s palace and the national Museum of Rwanda. Have lunch enroute and transfer to Kigali in time for your scheduled flight or will be dropped off at the agreed point of drop off.
