The annual park entrance passes are not valid for activities done in the national park such as gorilla trekking, hiking, chimpanzee trekking, and mountaineering among others.

Ferry crossing fees in Murchison Falls National Park are charged according to the weight in tonnes and size of the vehicle that is crossing using the ferry. It is important for visitors to know that the ferry has scheduled times for crossing, hence one must always keep time or else stand a chance of being left behind.

  • Light vehicle weighing 2 tonnes and below are charged UGX 20,000.
  • Medium Vehicles weighing 2-5 tonnes are charged UGX 40,000.
  • Heavy Vehicles weighing 5-10 tonnes are charged UGX 80,000.
  • Very Heavy Vehicles weighing between 10 to 20 tonnes are charged UGX 150,000.
  • Motor Cycles using the ferry to cross are charged UGX 5,000.
  • Passengers using the ferry to cross are charged UGX 5,000.

However, school buses with children and vehicle drivers are not charged for using the ferry to cross. The above prices are for scheduled crossing, one way for transit vehicles and only valid until 7pm. Vehicles in excess of 20 tonnes are have to request for special approval in order to use the ferry.

All the Aircrafts landing in Murchison falls national park pay a specific fee depending on the sizes and the numbers of seats they have. This amount is paid every time the plane lands at the park.

  • All Gliders and micro lights are charged USD 10 dollars for Foreign Registered aircrafts per landing and UGX 20,000 for Ugandan Registered aircrafts.

All aircrafts pay a fee of UGX 10,000 per day, as parking fees. Landing fees excludes entry fees payable by passengers, and pilots en-route do not pay entry fees if they are spending less than 2 hours in the national park.

  • Vehicles are charged USD 30 dollars per person for day game drives in the park, and UGX 30,000 for East African Citizens. Vehicles are charged USD 40 dollars or UGX 40,000 per person for night game drives. UWA Executive Buses are charged UGX 800,000 per day, and is inclusive of a driver and excludes fuel.

Visitors should note that the minimum charge for game drive vehicles is an equivalent of 3 persons.
